#WEAREYOU - WINS RTS AWARD
#WEAREYOU Wins Royal Television Society Award for Best Digital Innovation/Digital Creativity
Out of Orbit and Tinker Taylor won an award in the Digital Creativity Category at last week’s Royal Television Society – Midlands Gala Award Ceremony for the #WEAREYOU films.
Our project, which was commissioned by the Police Federation of Northern Ireland, was directed by Jonathan Beer and produced by Brian J. Falconer and Christopher Myers. The project was watched by over one million viewers within the first four weeks of its launch. Working with a local cast and crew and filmed in the greater Belfast area, the films focus on the everyday challenges facing Police Officers following the mothers, fathers and granddaughters behind the uniform.
“#WEAREYOU struck a chord. We set out to challenge and confront some stereotypes and we succeeded.”
Mark Lindsay (Chairman of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland)
The #WEAREYOU campaign was launched at Stormont Parliament Buildings in March 2016 in the presence of the Justice Minister.
“The three short films are stark and thought-provoking. They illustrate the daily challenges faced by many officers.”
David Ford MLA
Out of Orbit are proud to receive recognition for this worthy project.
